Jamie M. Haynes is a lifelong educator, district leader, and community advocate who has dedicated more than three decades to serving Volusia County’s students, families, and teachers. She currently serves on the Volusia County School Board representing District 1 and is seeking a re-election to continue the incredible game-changing and positive progress our schools are making—always keeping students as the focus of every decision.

Jamie’s experience is hands-on and comprehensive. She has taught pre-K through high school, including elementary and secondary mathematics, and has served as an academic coach and reading coach. She has worked extensively in Title I schools and district leadership roles focused on curriculum, instruction, and student achievement.

As a district technology coordinator, Jamie helped modernize classrooms by coordinating the installation of more than 15,000 iPads and 4,000 computers, along with training teachers to effectively use instructional software to support student learning.
